Officers Present: Megan Gagliano – Vice-President, Ashley Aliulis – Secretary, Michelle Becker – Treasurer, Pam Cianci – Vice-Teacher Rep & Katie Tiefenthal – Head Teacher

Officers Not Present: Laura Burcham – President, Jacque Grasso – Teacher Rep & June Grasso – Teacher Rep. In training

Meeting Brought to Order: By Megan Gagliano at 8:05AM

  • Old Business
    • Eagle Eye: Ashley Aliulis – Will be passed out to teachers next Thursday
  • Principal & Head Teacher Report
    • Mrs. Katie Tiefenthal
      • Halloween Parties
        • Homeroom Parents please contact your homeroom teacher about your class’s party time.
        • No Edible Treats
      • Halloween Parade
        • Time 1:00PM
        • In Elementary Gym for all grades.
        • Grades 2 – 6 will go to Nugent’s Nursing Home for continuation of parade
        • Pre-K through 1st will do a fun activity back in their class room during the time of Nugent’s parade.
      • Students may wear Halloween costumes to school all day: please no masks or face paint and nothing scary.
      • Acadience Test Results: Sent in and will most likely be passed out with first nine weeks report cards.
      • All grades Pre-K through 6th will be attending religious retreats on campus during November: More information will be sent home by your student’s teacher about these.
      • Parent/Teacher Conferences: will be held on November 7th starting at 2pm as well as all day November 8th.
      • October 22nd Students will have Mass to celebrate St. John Paull II Feast Day.
      • The whole diocese is getting accredited this year. Kennedy Catholic Family of Schools is already an accredited school.
  • Teacher Representative Report
    • Pam Cianci – Talked about Open House being tonight (October 9th). She also thanked everyone for helping all of the teachers be successful in the classroom. Mrs. Cianci also reminded parents to please email their child’s teacher if there is anything they need to know about homework, classwork, or anything going on in the classroom.

      • Waldameer Tickets: Made a profit of $1050.00 all 300 tickets were sold
      • September Dress Down for a Cause for Hurricane Victims: We raised $205 at SJPII

    • Chuck E. Cheese Fundraiser
      • Friday, November 8th @ 3:00pm – 9:00pm
      • Niles, Ohio – Eastwood Mall Complex
    • Tackey Turkey
      • Students will bring in a canned food item, a new toy or monetary donation for Sister Margaret’s Holiday drive.
      • Each item = one feather
      • The students will place feathers on the teachers turkeys that will be up in the MPR
  • Other Business
    • Linda Kardos asked why there were uncrustables on the lunch menu, if the students aren’t allowed to bring peanut butter due to allergies. Mrs. Tiefenthal said that she would look in to that with AVI.
    • Linda Kardos also asked about the amount of time that teachers had to get back to parents. Mrs. Tiefenthal explained that teachers have 24hours to get back to a parent, but if there is a question about an assignment that is not answered before the next school day then a child would not be penalized on the assignment.
    • Colleen Yarian, asked about having a pizza & paint, said that one of her friends does them and would look into information about having one for students and their families.
