FUNdamentals of Python with Finch Robots Career Camp

This camp is generously funded through a grant received by the United Way of Mercer County.

Who:  Students entering grades 8 through 10 

When:  June 8-12, 2020. 8:30 – 2:00, Lunch served for FREE each day

Where:     Linden Pointe, Training and Workforce Development Center, Hermitage, PA 16148 

Cost:  FREE, Students who successfully complete the Career Camp will receive a $250 stipend.  

The Career Camp will offer students the opportunity to experience simulated work experience in the field of computer science.  Students will learn the fundamentals of programming with the Python language, using an engaging and exciting curriculum from Carnegie Mellon University.  Students will apply their knowledge of Python programming with a project-based unit using robotics.  A field trip to a local company with employees in the field of robotics/computer science will also take place.  Students will end the week by showcasing their work to the community.

All registrants who are accepted into the Career Academy will receive a registration confirmation and detailed agenda for the Career Academy Camp via email at least one week before camp.
