Dear Parents and Guardians of Kennedy Catholic Middle and High School Students,
Due to Governor Wolf’s most recent mandate, the school is shut down indefinitely as of this afternoon.
As we are all aware, this situation is very fluid and is constantly changing or being updated. We at KCFS, still believe in a strong Catholic education and will be providing your child with a top-notch education. Work will still be completed online, mainly through Google Classroom, as we have done the past few weeks. If you need hard copies of any work, please reach out to myself or Ms. Zreliak (azreliak@kennedycatholicschools.org) or any of your teachers. This work is mandatory and we will do anything we can in order to get each student to succeed. We can either arrange for a pickup of materials, scan copies, or mail out the work. Should you need technical support, please email Mr. John Niemi (IT Director) at jniemi@kennedycatholicschools.org.
Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions or concerns to either myself or your child’s teacher. All teachers will be available by email each day from 7:30AM – 3:00PM. Each teacher will be contacting you via email or through Google Classroom to alert the students of the work they are to do each day. Please see the attached document that provides further details for each class. These assignments will be the first grades of the fourth nine weeks. Each student will need to email me (emarks@kennedycatholicschools.org) by 9:00AM each morning or they will be marked absent. All assignments will be due by 3pm on Friday.
Any hard copies of work will be due immediately upon return to school. As a reminder, all assignments will be graded and applied to the fourth nine weeks grading period. As a reminder, all students and parents can logon to their PlusPortals accounts to see their progress. If you have trouble accessing PlusPortals, please email Ms. Zreliak (azreliak@kennedycatholicschools.org).Ms. Zreliak will be available by email throughout shut down should any student need mental health related assistance or college/scholarship guidance. Mrs. Benson will also be available for any 7th or 8th grader who needs mental health assistance. Mr. Fulena and Mrs. Farkas will also both be available via email for those who currently see them. As a reminder, if you fall ill with COVID-19 or if you or anyone in your household comes into contact with anyone who has COVID-19, please contact me. Most importantly, please pray for all affected by COVID-19. Let the Lord guide them to a place of rest and relaxation.
