Hello SJPII Families!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and staying warm! Fall weather is here. Please make sure students bring a jacket to school as many classes still go outside for recess until the temperatures start to get a lot colder.

Preschool through 2nd grade students will have a visit from the Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department tomorrow to learn about Fire Safety, Weather permitting, students will get to look at the fire truck and go through the trailer they bring. If the weather is not conducive, students will be inside for the fire safety review. All students in the school receive bags with information. We are looking forward to their visit.

It was great to meet and see so many families at our SJPII Open House! We thank you for participating in our Prayer Walk and praying for our students and staff. If you were unable to attend, please make sure you check with your child’s teacher regarding setting up a November Parent Conference time.

Please note that Lifetouch will be coming for school picture make-ups on November 7th. Information will be coming home soon regarding this.

Make sure to read over the Little Eagle News 10.16-10.20 as there is important information regarding Halloween and Trunk or Treat here at SJPII coming up!

Next week, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week here at SJPII and a calendar of themed dress up days will be going home on Thu

rsday. Please follow the attire direction for each day.

As a reminder, if you need to meet with your child’s teacher or myself, please call and schedule an appointment time to do so. We are unable to meet without appointments due to scheduling conflicts and prior engagements this time of year. Thank you for understanding.

The lunch menu will be sent home tomorrow with students. The lunch for tomorrow is chicken patty sandwich with fries, fruit or yogurt and choice of milk. We did not get the menu until dismissal on Friday and were unable to get it home in that short period of time.

Don’t forget Tuesday is our Dress Down for a Donation for the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh in honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Students will participate in activities on being kind and inclusive in STEAM/Library with Mrs. Shreves and in their respective classrooms.

May God bless you and your families.

Educationally Yours,
Mrs. Kathryn Tiefenthal
SJPII Elementary Principal
